A percentage of the profit was donated to the Nature Conservancy of Canada. I chose NCC not only for their commitment to preserve natural diversity across Canada (ranging from insect to bear habitat) but because of their continuous efforts to work with local communities and individuals.

the story

October 2020

This project was born out of the boredom of quarantine, a time of bread baking, very long walks and in my case, plenty of painting. I used (very tiny) model airplane paint brushes to create acrylic scenes on small canvases, focusing on every detail.

The original canvases were a big hit on social media, so I decided to make prints to be able to share them with everyone! Each print was hand embellished to enhance colour and add a little magic gold. I then would write a handwritten note, and seal the print in an envelope by painting flowers along the seam, then finishing with a red wax seal. It was a lonnnng process, but I had the luxury of time and really enjoyed making everyone who purchased my art, a special little gift sent from my home to theirs.
