All of the profits of these greeting cards were donated to World Wildlife Fund during the 2020 Australian wildfires, to aid the planting of new trees needed in the delicate bushland/woodland ecosystems.

the story
April 2020
This was my first fundraiser, spurred on by the devastating wildfires in Australia.
Both my grandparents had a special connection to Australia after relocating for years in Carnavon from Bristol, and then eventually settling in Canada. I grew up hearing of the stories of my mum in her outdoor crib, with a Cockatoo perched on the rails. They deeply loved Australia, and played a monumental part of introducing me to birdwatching.
Watching the fires rage through a land I was familiar with, but had never stepped foot on, I wanted to showcase the range of beautiful species we are at risk of losing forever, if action isn’t taken going forward.
The original cards were sketched on cardstock, then painted with acrylic and outlined in pen, prints were then made to sell to raise money.
"Your generous donation will help support the immediate response to the fires and long-term conservation efforts to secure Australia's natural resources for people and nature in a time of climate emergency".
I hope to inspire others to donate as every little bit counts, no matter how small.
